It wasn't even good enough to do an exchange at Walmart without reciept. During that 60 days I have NO license but instead a regular piece of paper from the DMV that says I have a 60 day temporary driving permit. My doc has 60 days to respond before they just assume it to be no. She came back and said that I'm restricted from a regular license as well! I was then told that they would fax my doctor and ask if he clears me for driving. Half way through the process the lady at the DMV left to consult her manager. I've been waiting on reassignment for a little over 2 months and in the mean time I went to the DMV to have my CDL license downsized back to a regular one. I now legally had to tell me job which immediately barred me from my job. Neuro immediately began treatment for narc with cataplexia. When my primary couldn't find anything physically wrong I was sent to Neuro. Then I used my insurance to find out why I can't kick these sleeping spells that would occur frequently.

I was originally a bus driver for a very prestigious company you've all heard of. I'm going though this right now in Florida as we speak. Same state, different doctors, different reactions. However, I do still struggle with staying fully alert at times while driving, and I will pull over as soon as I can to either take a break or switch drivers. Me? In my consult I freely admitted to my doctor I can and have fallen asleep behind the wheel, predominantly at night.

My friend was pissed since they’re otherwise healthy. It wasn’t clear exactly what was triggering it, but because it happened twice within a certain window, the doctor felt legally obligated to suspend their license until they could do additional testing over the course of a few months to make sure there wasn’t a particular medical issue triggering it. I had a friend that had a couple of unexplained episodes of blacking out over the course of a few months (never while driving or even anywhere near a car). CA can pull your license for anything that causes loss of consciousness if not “well controlled.” However, a lot depends on your doctor.
